TOPIC: The blues scale and bending strings

The blues scale and bending strings 7 years 3 weeks ago #9153

The blues scale uses the minor pentatonic scale (1-3b-4-5-7b) and adds the raised 4 (called the augmented 4) to the scale. This is also known as the "blue note." Sounds good when added to riffs.
When bending notes during blues riffs, you want to bend to get to another note on the scale. The 4 is a good note to bend since it can be easily bent to the "blue note".
