TOPIC: Blues class -- hybrid scales and Day-tripper

Blues class -- hybrid scales and Day-tripper 6 years 3 months ago #9383

At the last blues class we learned the main riff of the Beatles song Day-tripper. It uses a combination of major and minor pentatonic scales. The riff goes like this: 1 - 3b - 3 - 5 - 8 - 7b - 5 - 2(octave) - 5 - 7b - 8. We did it in the key of E, so we started with E being the 1-note. We also did the chords for Day-tripper, but at this point I'm unsure of them so I can't reproduce the here. Anyway, practice the riff in E and also in A (which is the 4 in the key of E)
