Thank you for your participation in the public forum.  Please bear with us as the forum software is new to us too.  We think the software is pretty intuitive, but if you have a question about how to do something, please email webmaster@fretmentor.com and we will try to get you an answer. Below are some frequently asked questions.  If your question is not addressed below, please let us know and we will respond accordingly.

FAQ 

Q.  I tried to sign up a couple of times with a User Name and Password but I was unable to do so. What do I need to do?

A.  When entering a User Name and Password, carefully enter letters and number but Do Not place spaces in between your words.  

Q.  I registered with a User Name and password, but I am still unable to post.

A.  When you register for the first time, www.fretmentor.com will send you an email confirming your registration.  To complete the registration, you must first activate your new User Name by clicking on the link in the email you receive.  This ensures that the email you are using is accurate and that also prevents people from using more than one User Name and Password.

Q.  I created a user name and password but have not received a email to activate my forum ID, nor can I post a message.

A.  If you incorrectly entered the wrong email address, you will not receive an email advising your account is ready for activation.  We attempt to follow up with a second email to see if the user's email is active or if a false email was used. When a new user signs up, if the email that was used is unable to receive a confirmation, then your User ID and password will remain disabled until we hear from you otherwise.  This ensures that spam or unidentified users are not posted on the forum.

Q.  I tried to post a sound file but was unable to do so.  

A.  Sound files cannot be posted on the public forum.  However, you are able to post picture files. 

Q.  I tried to click on the Featured Video but nothing seems to happen.

A.   The Featured Video link works on every page but the Forum section of the website.  To access the Featured Video, Go to the Home Page or one of the studio sections and click on the tab that allows you to view the video.

Q. What am I doing wrong? I'll reply to a post, submit, and then  get this message that I'm not logged in and have to do it all over  again. It's happened a couple times now so I copy everything I've  written just before I hit the post button so I can paste it when I do  it over. I know I've been logged in.  Any suggestions?

 A. There is a timeout in the forum when creating a post of approximately 15 minutes.  If you go more than 15 minutes in between pages (like editing a long post) it logs you out.  The answer for a longer post that takes time to write, is to edit off-line and paste into the forum window.
