Dark Hollow 14 years 10 months ago #1315

Listening to XM 14 (Bluegrass Station) on my way home today I heard a version of Dark Hollow that I really liked. It was a lot slower than the Grateful Dead's (do LOVE that version) and the vocals were really easy to understand, but what I liked was the mando's lead! It didn't last very long but it surely grabbed my attention.....I need to pay more attention when they say who the artist is because I really would like to know who sang/played it....would certainly download it to my i-phone! Any idea...anyone out there????

"Muleskinner's" version is my favorite. Big Mon was supposed to show up for this TV event in 1973 but didn't show up. Rumor has it, he was afraid the band wasn't clean cut enough. However, the show went on and the rest is history.

This DVD and CD are available for SIERRA RECORDS out on the west coast.

Bill Keith - Banjo
Clarence White - Lead Guitar and Low Harmony
Peter Rowan - Guitar and High Harmony
Richard Greene - Fiddle
David Grisman - Mando.
