TOPIC: Loch Lomond

In TablE:huh: dit, the eighth measure's tab shows a D chord played but D7 is labeled above it. What chord should be strummed?

I've been practicing with the D7...I think it sounds "prettier"...however FM has been calling out a D in class....so I guess I don't know....

I've been struming it as a D because the tab below shows a D chord strummed as part of the lead. Too bad we didn't play it in a group, I'd be curious to see how the D7 sounds as backup when a D is used by the lead.

I think it's supposed to be a D7 in both parts but FM said the D works and I think the two chords would blend together fine. I also really like the D7 sound in this song.

I found the groove. Now I need the move (make the fingers do the same thing at least twice in a row). I played the lead w/out losing the D7. It's definitely a new move.

I'm replying to my own post because according to buzzart you get extra points for it. On the eighth measure when the D note is played in the lead @ beat 1, just lift your finger off the note when beat 2-and is strummed and allow the fingers to mute the B string therefore, the C in the D7 chord by the rythmn section is not compromised;)
