You're right about Bm - it has a great sound. Like you- i switched to a 4-string chording of Bm - since it was hard to reach & come down on the bass strings without some muting. Sadly I have stuck with the 4-string chording since I never seem to really need it - and it does facilitate a quick formation and change to the next chord - maybe I just being lazy! and may regret it some day - but soooo far! soooo good!

Fretmentor showed me during my private lesson the Bm shortcut, and it sounds good and works. There are numerous short cuts, depending on the music. I've heard some electric players make the comment that they can't imagine barre chords on an acoustic because of the higher pressure needed to sound the chord. I guess it will ultimately make us better players if we master them.

Faking it? I just just pick it and smile. I usually learn alot though.

Buck, you're actually employing the proper technique. See if i miss a note on a chord and it goes thunk, i give myself away by freaking. If you smile and go with it, even though it sounds like crap, people will think you are a virtuoso, and have skills of expression and that you're creative! I'm still working on that!
