Playing With Others

Now that you have practiced the song Simple Gifts in one of the three studios, here is a basic guitar rhythm track for you to play along with.  This song is recorded at 60 beats per measure.  The song is played in 4/4 Time.  The sound files below are in two different Keys (the Key of G and the Key of A).  Keep in mind that the mandolin player is learning this song in the Key of A.  Since both the guitar players and the banjo players learned the melody lines for this tune in the Key of G, you should both place your capo on the second fret of your instrument and play in the Key of G where you learned the song, especially if you intend to play with a mandolin player.  However, while the mandolin player will play in the Key of A, guitar and banjo players can practice this song along with the guitar rhythm tracks in either of the two Keys below.
