Last night was my second class. The classes are fun - I am impressed by the relaxed, witty and supportive feel. I have a very superficial knowledge of bluegrass and am a beginner guitar player, but the songs we have played are beautiful and give me an opportunity to work on changing chords and strumming, and make me learn to listen for chord changes as I really don't know the songs at all. My favorite part of last night's class was the intro to 12 bar blues (I'll work on that more today) and the Django Reinhardt "Minor Swing" - never heard it before, but I'll now explore the song and Django. I'm lucky to have mentioned this class to my friend Rick, who is a great guitar player. He signed up as well, and we worked on the class a few times during the week.
