During class we watched video clips of Matchbox Blues performed by Blind Lemon Jefferson and Carl Perkins. We watched a version by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Albert King and practiced playing their Matchbox shuffle. It uses a minor pentatonic scale in the key of G# as follows: Root, slide 4 to 5, flatted 7, octave root, 4 to flatted 3rd, root, G#. We also talked about and practiced playing minor pentatonic scales.
