TOPIC: The Dillards at Sunday Nite LIVE

Hello, all!!

Just wanted to let y'all know that Rodney Dillard and the Dillards Band (aka the Darlin' Boys from the Andy Griffith Show) will be playing a concert tommorrow night at Grace Fellowship Church down off Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm at 7:00pm. They're really awesome guys, and awesome musicians too. And they have a pretty darn good fiddle player:)

They will also be doing both the worship music and the message at Church in the Farms which is on Indian Town Road. The services are at 9:00 and 10:45am. Here's the website: http://churchinthefarms.com/

I really liked them at the South Florida Music Festival!!! Very entertaining and brought back quite a few memories from the "black and white TV era".

The Maybery RFD Show with Andy Griffith show is a classic. The Darlings included the banjo great Doug Dillard, Rodney Dillard and others. The Dillards are also known as the first bluegrass group to electrify their bluegrass instruments in the 1960s. They would later perform with a number of southern rock greats, including Byron Berline.

The Darlings included both Dillard Brothers. Rodney Dillard is Doug's Brother and has his own band that performed here over the weekend. Doug Dillard, however, rarely performs with the Rodney Dillard Band. So to be precise, the Darlings that were on the Maybery RFD show included both brothers.
