I would have to say Stevie is up to his "neck" in guitars! I've always been impressed with multiple neck guitars. I know Jimmy Page played them, and i went to a Cheap Trick concert once, and the guitarist was playing a 5 neck version. Probably alittle much, more show than go.
I think with all the cool sounding things you can do with electrics, i think i still like the simplicity of the acoustic. I don't mean simplicity from a playing point of view, because you can get very technical with it. Simplicity, in that what you hear is what the instrument, and the player brings. No electronically induced effects like delay, sustain, reverb, overdrive, etc. A player who can get vibrato and sustain out of an acoustic is a skilled technical player indeed.
