I made it to Roy Bookbinder's Acoustical Blues Fandango last weekend in St. Pete. The show was held at the Palladium Theater which I recommend as a very unique and comfortable venue. It used to be a Christian Science Church and now belongs to St. Pete College.
Most of the show was great with Roy playing (and talking) for almost an hour and then Paul Geremia played for about as long. There was also a Mississippi Delta Blues guitar player (and singer) that was good, but I can't remember his name other than it had "duck" in it.
The disappointing act was Rory Block. I did not like her style, playing, lyrics or antics. In fact she was so irritating we left way before she finished. One of the factors was that she stomped and wildly moved her left leg to keep the beat and appeared to have a massive case of restless leg syndrone.
