Punishment prevention post technique #1:

Personal note to Doug: Always post on fretmentor.com ...minimum once a week. This will help you in Wednesday nite class!!

Example: I (the worst mandolin player in the class) was picked to play with Jim and Brian (the two best bango players in the class)...spontaneously with no practice...not that practice would have helped.

Posting MAY help with avoiding similar circumstances (Doubtful).

But Doug it was awesome the way you picked the first 3 notes....I thought you were just going to keep going....it was great! and by the way you are very tough on yourself...from my perspective you have improved tremendously the past few weeks....think where you were 6 months ago....soon people will be wanting to play the mando like you.....Patience "dude" (as my nephews would say..)

I'm with Sylvia, the thing that will help in class is practice. And playing with stronger players is actually a good thing, often their skills will cover your mistakes, at least thats what i've learned by my experience.
