So most of you might have heard of them, but a good bluegrass band I have come across recently is "Old Crow Medicine Show." Some of their more reknown tunes are "Wagon Wheel" and "Easy Rider." Check em out!

That was nice to watch. It is not everyday that you get to see a band member playing a 6-string banjo. . . .

Didn’t know a 6 string banjo even existed. To bad the banjo guy didn’t take the lead and was just there making “noise”… I wonder where I heard that comment before.

Who are these guys??? I LOVE them....Never seen or heard of them before...(I really have lived a very limited life, musically ) If they had a "washboard" they could pass for a "Zydeco" band...! Kruger Brothers and now these guys....My I-Pod is going to get full ! I really have been exposed to so many new things through Fretmentor! Pretty Nice !

Deering Banjos makes a 6-string banjo for those who play guitar, but do not wish to learn to play the 5-string banjo.

With a 6-string banjo, you get the sound of a banjo (somewhat) while still maintaining the same chord positions and lead break patterns on the fingerboard as a guitar.

Gibson makes a 6-string mandolin for a similar purpose.
