I find that I can learn a song faster and I play it better when the leads are long and do not involve "chord" formations....as in "Arkansas Traveler" and "Joe Clark". The "easier songs" like "Wildwood Flower" and "Simple Gifts" give me such a head ache.....and if I have to go to an "F" OMG! Yet when I listen to the class it seems that it's the other way around....that most of you do better with songs that have chords included in the leads....why is this????

Tigerpaws, don't you play "I'll Fly Away" using chords? You actually told me that you do that because, it helps you keep the rythmn(I'm pretty sure it was you). I, after that, learned it using chords and have been playing it that way ever since. And because of your example, I look for places to play a chord when possible if it helps the rythmn. Thanks

Yes George, I learn them with the chords if that's possible....and I can keep the rhythm better with those songs if my chords are included...what I'm saying is that the songs that have major leads without chords I find easier to learn and play....even if it's a lot of picking.....comes easier to me....(Like Arkansas Traveler and Ole Joe Clark!)..that's all....and I'm glad if I was able to help you out.....
