TOPIC: playing without always looking at fretting hand

Re:playing without always looking at fretting hand 13 years 5 months ago #4442

I have problems with that one tune where we go to B...i definitely have to look at that one.
I remember when Fretmentor used to bust me for looking at my strumming hand...Then what Fretmentor said made sense..move the A up 1 step with pinky ring and middle, then nail the F# note on the 1st string with the index. It's not so bad, but it's a stretch when you're used to playing in that G/C/D box...

Thats a good technique. No distractions. Just concentration.
Another one I try is to follow the music tabs as you're playing. Even when I know the song pretty well. I think that connection helps me when trying to learn a new song when I don't have the melody in my head yet.

:cheer: hey manB) play your guitar..>:) ... U'll figure out a lot of your goods and bads along the way !:) :cheer: ;)

If you don't challenge yourself, who will? ...put a challenge on me!!! bring it on!

I haven't adhered to my proposed hour or 1/2 hr./ daily practice lately but, I'm surely think'n 'bout it 24/7. Let's get excited! ... besides, I consider myself about 12th place in class so every time we play, I'd better have had my 1/2 hr/ Hr practices in or else:blush:!! (which has been happening lately:side: )

Do we get extra credit for using cool avitars?

just can't figure out where to put this one :X
