TOPIC: DIRTY FINGERS!

I used to have Martin strings on my "Marty" when I first got it and although I didn't know any better I knew that I didn't like the fact that the strings turned my fingers black....Then I switched to Daddarios and that stopped....but now it's happening again....Does that mean that my fingers are sweating too much (it is hot again) or does it mean that it's time to change the strings??? Or does it mean something else??? Anyone knows???

Don't know about my fingers, but the strings get kinda dark looking when the get old...

That always makes me want to play more when my fingers turn black. It's like a motivational stain.

It,s could be the sweat on your hand mixed with dust and dirt, I was talking to a guitarist from Georiga earlier this year and he said he always washed his hands before he played any instrument.You could also try putting on a set of coated strings, I use Elixir nanoweb with an ultra thin coating. They,re a little pricey but last 3-5x longer.

Perhaps your "acidic sweat" combined with the grime on your strings is causing this...
