Go out and get a pack of "Jim dunLop" Xtra Heavy picks. Make sure they're nice and pretty...translucent candy colered.. and see if the picks don't draw you to play;)

I've been keeping my guitar obnoxiously located in an unavoidable high-traffic area in the kitchen/dining area. Lots of times I pick it up and just play through a song or two (maybe a minute or two?)because I may have a quick moment before work, after work, waiting for someone, etc... the in-your-face location makes it easy to do this. As yes, it often does lead to 30 minutes or an hour of quality strumming time.

George is right about those dunlop heavies...... I used to think he pushes those because maybe he owns stock in the jim dunlop company;) ..... but it has become my favorite pick.

Just got some heavy picks myself, like them much better. I got in to this Wednesday night stuff using one that flapped like playing cards fixed to your bike with clothespins.

A heavier pick has helped me with right hand awareness (strumming hand), my biggest problem. I'm finding that my picking and strumming is more sensitive to the strings proximity with a heavier pick. Also a tighter grip will automatically give more volume and a looser grip less volume equals more control between leads and rythmn! In my quest to improve on my fundamentals, my pick choice seems to help... glad to see some experimenteers out there!:silly: :side:
