TOPIC: Mandolin Heaven

Mandolin Heaven 14 years 6 months ago #1999

Hit the music stores near times square in NYC this weekend. Got to play a Collings Mandolin and a couple of Webers. That's about as close to heaven as I'll get.

Or maybe Nashville is the next stop on the stairway.

You must have known where to go because the couple of times I've been there and we've stayed around Times Square I did not see ONE music store! A lot of electronics and cameras and t-shirts stores but not one single music store! :(

Rudy's, Manny's, and Sam Ashe (the original I think) are on the same block. 49th street right near the Hard Rock. Lots of quality instruments both electric and acoustic and you can see a few famous folks wander in. They had lots of banjos and mandos and I got to play a bit and take a break from the city.
