Thinking of trying the mandolin and wondering if playing the guitar helps in picking up the mandolin? What is a good brand of mandolin to start with?

Congratulations Herman. You will love the mandolin.

Playing guitar help with your rhythm and left hand technique but be prepared for an additional challenge. You may find the smaller frets and the chords a challenge at first.

I will help you locate a mandolin at a reasonable price. Contact me via email and advise me what your budget is for a mandolin.

If you want, you can try my Eastman at class any time. If you want one to try at home to play around with, I have an Epiphone A-style you can try. It was the 1st one I bought, and good enough to get me hooked on mandolin! Let me know and I'll bring it to class. You will love mandolin!!:cheer:
