Feb 19th: We discussed and practiced making 9 chords and 9th chords, both useful in creating a blues sound. These chords are difficult to absorb and execute, therefore, the topic will be reviewed again in the near future.
Feb 26th:We reviewed and practiced the 'blues-scale'. A blues-scale is created by adding one note to any minor pentatonic scale. The note that is added is called the blues-note and is the note between the third and forth notes of the minor pentatonic. This note can also be referred to as an augmented 3 or a diminished 4 note.To practice this we created a blues scale in the key of G by using an E-form pentatonic. We practiced the blues-scale as a riff in a 12 bar blues in the key of G.
