TOPIC: The Carolina Chocolate Drops

Get ready to see the Carolina Chocolate Drops and Jubal's Kin at the Culture Room in Ft. Lauderdale (near Oakland Park and US 1). The date is May 11th - yes, a wednesday night (heck and curses!). Maybe The FM will reschedule class. The good part is I believe the tickets are only $15.

I've been to that place many times. It's a DIVE with almost no seats. Be prepared to stand in a drunken crowd for two hours. The only "culture" in the Culture Room is growing on the walls in the bathroom.....you've been warned!!!

My son has been to the Culture room and says it's a small venue, but not nasty like the previous post says. That being said, my friend's band is the opening band for the show, so I'm going to see both bands! Come out and see The Short Straw Picker's and The Carolina Chocolate Drops! I know it will be a great show.

As I recall, Wednesday nights are bluegrass class nights. So if you are foolish enough to go to the show, you do so at your own risk.

My wife went with me to the Culture Room a few years ago to see Hot Tuna. She now refuses to go there again, I have been back 4 or 5 times but WITHOUT her. And it has to be someone I REALLY want to see to get me there.....not many would do it......
